Delivery costs depend on the destination. Please visit our
Shipping Information page to find out how much delivery is to your country.
Express delivery is available when you buy used books for delivery in the UK at a cost of £3.99.
For this, we guarantee all orders placed before 2pm will be shipped same day and will reach customers by the next working day.
However, we cannot currently offer expedited shipping on international orders or for NEW books, but we’re working on making this possible in the future.
For full details on delivery times and charges, please visit our
Shipping Information page and view our
Shipping details table.
Please note the ‘Shipping time’ is also referred to as ‘transit time’ – this is the time it takes for an order to be delivered to your destination from the time it is collected from our premises by our delivery company.
For NEW books, there is the added time that is required for an item to be delivered to us first, after which we process it and hand it over to our delivery company.
The time taken for a NEW book to be delivered to us varies from supplier to supplier. The primary aspect is the location of the supplier as we not only source from within the United Kingdom, but also from Germany and the USA.
The secondary aspect is whether the book you ordered is an in-stock title or is a Print-on-Demand (POD) title. In-stock titles are invariably dispatched by our suppliers within 2-3 working days. Print-on-Demand titles, which are only printed on orders, could take anywhere between 5-15 working days.
The delivery estimate which you see on our website on the product details page usually is inclusive of this of both times taken for a NEW book supplier to deliver to us and the ‘shipping time’ which is the time it takes for an order to arrive at your address from the point if leaves our warehouse.
We try to ship items together but are sometimes dispatched in separate packages. This can depend on the condition of the book you’ve ordered and ensures we deliver your overall order as efficiently as possible.
Used books
Some orders might come in separate packages. But because we stock them in our warehouse, they are likely to be dispatched in one parcel and exceptions only made when it comes to size of the parcel and best service option to use to ensure efficient processing and shipping of your order.
New books
We try to ship items in an order together but sometimes we find it more efficient to dispatch them as soon as they arrive, as opposed to delaying an order whilst we wait for it to arrive in its entirety. Some orders might come to you in separate packages mainly because we work with different suppliers to provide you with a selection of millions of awesome books. Therefore, we source new books from suppliers, consolidate your orders onsite and dispatch them to give you the best possible experience.
We will email you to let you know when your item/s have been dispatched.
We sometimes dispatch orders in separate packages, so give it a couple of days to receive the remainder of your order. If the delivery window has passed, please get in touch with our Customer Service team at
cs@awesomebooks.com so that we can investigate it for you.
Pre-orders will arrive with you as per the release date. Occasionally there may be delays from the publisher which prevent us from receiving your item at our warehouse, which means delays in your delivery. Please feel free to write to us if you have any questions concerning your pre-order or would like updates on
cs@awesomebooks.com so that we can do our best for you.

Currently we offer tracking to all orders shipped to the following countries:
Australia
Croatia
Czech Republic
Greece
Switzerland
Spain
Hungary
Ireland
Italy
Luxembourg
Latvia
Netherlands
Poland
Portugal
Romania
Sweden

Switzerland
Spain
United States
For Germany, we offer tracked and untracked services.
We are constantly working with our delivery partners to offer tracked service to countries that we currently ship untracked. Cost is a critical factor and though we would love to offer only tracked service to all countries, we must balance our aspirations and not undermine our value proposition to you as our customer.
We ship orders over a certain value threshold tracked as a default option. This varies from domestic versus international.
Providing your order has not yet been dispatched, please contact our Customer Service team via the Contact Us form and request the change along with the new address.
Please note we are unable to amend delivery address from one EU country to another EU country for tax reasons.
UK Orders
We currently use Yodel and Royal Mail delivery service options through our partner. But change is coming soon, and all our domestic parcels will be entirely handled by Royal Mail.
International
This will vary from country to country, and we are unable to provide you with this information. We use a blend of postal services and courier services via our partners. Countries where our partner works with a local postal service, it is likely to be the national carrier. For example, in Canada, it would be Canada Post. In the USA, it will be UPS. If we currently offer tracked services to your country of residence, the tracking number along with the carrier link, should tell you who the delivery company is.
All books ordered from us are quality checked prior to dispatch, whether it is a pre-loved book or a NEW book from one of our many suppliers.
Used book condition
Used books are books that have been owned and used by book lovers. While we endeavor to ensure every book that leaves our warehouse is quality checked and any defective items are not shipped, sometimes items do slip through our checks despite our best efforts and my arrive in a condition that was not as described.
If you experience this, please reach out to our Customer Service team at
cs@awesomebooks.com and we will provide you with the necessary assistance to address any/all your concerns.
New book condition
New books that are dispatched from our warehouse are in pristine condition and packed in cardboard packaging to provide it the addition protection from any damage while in transit.
In rare cases, even new books can be damaged in transit, either due to improper handling of a package by our delivery company or due to factors beyond even their control such as inclement weather conditions.
If your order is delivered to you in a condition that is contrary to your expectation, please do reach out to our Customer Service team and your query will be addressed promptly.
Images on our website are intended as a guide only. While our used books are stocked in our warehouse, new books are sourced from various suppliers. The images are from a database that is widely available to sellers like us and sometimes, an ISBN can have more than one cover design. We are unfortunately unable to know the design we will receive until it is delivered.
We appreciate that this may cause inconvenience, but we are here to work with you to resolve any of your concerns in this regard. Therefore, please do contact our Customer Service team at
cs@awesomebook.com with details and we will aim to resolve your query as soon as possible. If you are after a specific edition, we will do our best to help locate it.
We will do our best to fulfill your order with the edition ordered, but this may not be possible in some cases with used books. You will receive a copy of the right title and the right format, but there might be some differences in cover art.

At AwesomeBooks we believe every action has the potential to make the world a more awesome place. That is why every order makes an impact. Your purchase is powering a social good in two ways: by choosing us, you are supporting our sustainability efforts, and for every book you buy, we’ll donate one to one of our local and global literacy partners.
We are committed to working with schools, communities and partners around the world to give people the literacy skills they need to succeed in life.
We believe it is our duty to empower one another, to unlock our potential to improve the lives of all. Our ability to achieve should not be defined by where we were born or what resources we were fortunate enough to have around us. We work to “re-define” this by collaborating with a network of partners around the world to achieve our goal of improving literacy wherever we see that access and opportunity are limited.
Every time you buy a book at awesomebooks.com we will donate a book to someone who needs it. Almost 400,000 children in the UK do not own a book. The proportion of children without books is increasing –now one in three, compared with one in ten in 2005. Children with their own books are more likely to be above-average readers and do better at school. Children without books are more likely to live in poverty. Our commitment to literacy doesn't stop at home. We work with multiple international organizations to reach every corner of the world where books are needed.
When you buy a used book, the impact is huge - not only are you helping us continue to rescue used books from ending up in landfill, but you are also taking direct action to fight climate change. A used book has a carbon footprint 80% smaller than a new book, so by re-homing a pre-loved book you are preventing that carbon investment from going to waste.
Our world is awesome. We are committed to preserving the environment for current and future generations and operate in a way that treats our planet with respect.
When businesses are formed, they should be inherently sustainable, not only financially but also environmentally. For every business this takes a different form but for us it means allowing people to enjoy books and other products as many times as possible without having to create new ones. Not only does this save resources, it also means hundreds of thousands of items get a second chance instead of ending up in landfills. We don’t stop there.
We are aiming to be carbon neutral by the end of 2024
We have introduced carbon reporting to actively monitor our consumption of energy and water, as well as our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and waste. We have met our original pledge of reducing our own carbon footprint by 30% per book sold by 2020, but we want to do more. We have pledged to be carbon neutral by the end of 2024.
Everything is recycled. Nothing goes to landfill.
We will find every book a home, but sometimes a book has been loved a bit too much and needs to retire from the bookshelf. So far, we have recycled over 132 million books – the equivalent to a million trees – to be made into new products, working with specialist recycling partners.
