Tom Fletcher
Biography
Known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of pop band McFly, Tom Fletcher became the most popular debut children’s author of 2012 with his picture book The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas. Born in 1985, Tom attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School from a young age, starring on stage and in commercials. He also wrote music, and although he missed out on a place in the band Busted, he wrote many of the songs they’ve become famous for. In 2003, he formed McFly, and in 2004 they became the youngest band to have a debut album go straight to the top of the charts. In 2012, along with band-mate Dougie Poynter, Tom published his debut children’s book, The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas. An instant hit with youngsters, several more The Dinosaur That Pooped… books followed. In 2016, he published his first solo children’s book, The Christmasaurus. It became a modern festive favourite, with numerous sequels and a musical version. Several standalone novels followed, and in 2019, he and his wife, Giovanna Fletcher, wrote the first in their dystopian young adult trilogy, Eve Of Man. Writing children’s fiction, picture books and young adult fiction, Tom Fletcher is a children’s author who appeals to all ages. His laugh-out-loud humour, imaginative storylines and themes of friendship, working together and overcoming adversity spark the imaginations of young readers, while his young adult fiction explores much darker themes of gender equality, reproductive rights and the corrupting nature of power. Whatever your age, there’s a Tom Fletcher book for you!Best Selling Books by Tom Fletcher
