Author of the epic Empyrean series, Rebecca Yarros is a bestselling and award-winning American author of fantasy fiction. Born into a military family in 1981, Yarros moved around a lot as a child; books were a constant companion, offering stability in her ever changing world. When she was 12 years old, she discovered historical romance, a genre that would greatly shape her later writing career.
At Troy University, she studied European History and English, and upon graduating immediately started writing as a way to cope while her husband, a soldier, was deployed in Afghanistan. It became the first in the Flight & Glory series, which revolves around different aspects of military life, offering authentic insight into the lives of service men and women and their families.
This was followed by The Legacy series, Renegades Trilogy and In Luv duet, all of which deal with romance, first-love, angst and passion, as well as several standalone novels. Whilst they brought Yarros success, it was Fourth Wing, published in 2023, that turned her into a household name, spending 65 weeks on the New York Times bestsellers list thanks to her very active BookTok community of fans.
