Biography
An attorney turned author, David Baldacci is best known for his legal thrillers that are full of action, suspense and plenty of authentic detail. As a child, Baldacci was a keen storyteller, penning short stories and writing screenplays. It was while practising law in Washington D.C. that he first tried his hand at writing a novel; Absolute Power, which took 3 years to write, was published in 1996 and became an international bestseller. Telling the story of a fictional American President with a shocking secret he’ll go to any lengths to protect, it was adapted into a film starring Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman.
Since then, Baldacci has written over 50 books for adults, including standalone novels as well as The Camel Club, John Puller, Amos Decker, Atlee Pine and Travis Devine series. Since 2005, Baldacci has also written books for children, including the Freddy & The French Fries series and the Vega Jane series, a fantasy saga inspired by C.S. Lewis and Lewis Carroll.
